Where you can work

Remote in the United States or Canada. The team works mostly asynchronously. On-call or operational support depends on the team's responsibilities.

About the role

You'll build frontend and backend features that help customers manage subscriptions and billing accounts. You'll also work on renewals and billing records, where errors can affect revenue or customer access.

What you'll work on

  • Build subscription management features, including manual renewals and auto-renewal.
  • Connect subscription workflows with billing, customer accounts and internal admin systems.
  • Work with Product and Design on technical plans, write tests, and roll out changes in small steps.
  • Review code and reduce technical debt and risks in the system's design.
  • Help resolve subscription and renewal incidents. Join on-call or operational support when the team's responsibilities call for it.

What the employer asks for

  • Professional fullstack engineering experience across frontend and backend code.
  • You'll need Ruby on Rails experience. Vue.js is preferred, or you can bring React experience.
  • Experience setting technical direction for a product area and shipping changes in small steps.
  • Experience with transactions or checkout flows, ideally in billing, ecommerce or subscriptions.
  • Clear written and spoken English for a remote team that works mostly asynchronously.
  • Experience connecting billing or CRM systems such as Zuora, Salesforce or Stripe is a plus.
